I rented at babybeat.com for $25/ month. WORTH every penny. I was able to get the heartbeat everyday by week 9. I think the store bought ones are for later on. I will rent it with every pregnancy
You can buy them on ebay for cheap, but the good ones are rented. I’d look on google to find the one that best suits you. I found a couple but they were a little expensive. [you can also find a site on google that you can rent from]
the ones from walmart….etc don’t work until really late in the pregnancy….i rented my doppler from babyfm.com and heard the heartbeat for the first time at 10w5d. ( it was really hard to find at that time but now a week later I can usually find it pretty fast) I know at babyfm.com they require at the minimum a 2 month rental and it runs about 1.65 a day for the doppler with the digital display.
