My heart rate just reached 215 bpm for a second. Is this bad?
I’m wearing a month long heart monitor. It shows my pulse rate on it. The pulse is changing constantly. They told me this was normal because it changes when you breathe. However mine is changing drastically and a lot. It goes from 81 to 113 back to 91 to 78 in a matter of a few seconds each. Does this sound like a malfunction with the monitor or does it sound like it could be my heart? For a second it read 215. Is this bad?
Also I keep experiencing an achy type of pain in the left side of my chest. It comes and goes but never seems to last more than a few seconds. It can be quite painful though. how do I know if this is my heart? Please help cause Im’ getting very anxious now.
THanks.
hi racheael, i’m a medical student, I’m not very advanced because I’ve studied only two years but I think you should do some tests to confirm if there’s a problem with your heart or not. As I know heart pain can be referred into left hand, and a heart rate of 215 bps without excersing or big stress can be somehow abnormal, but don’t worry, just go to your dr soon
TELL YOUR NURSE ABOUT THE 215 BUT THE OTHERS ARE NORMAL FROM MY EXPERIENCE MY FASTEST HEART RATE WAS 250
What does your doctor say about all this. He’s the one to ask.
