Should I Fire my doctors?

Me and my hubby are ttc , but my doctor keeps stalling us .. I have been in and out of cardiologist offices, about three months ago I went to get my normal annual check up, they were taking my pulse and the nurse tells me I have an irregular pulse rate… Freaked me out… So I was sent for an emergency EKG, the results came back a week later saying that abnormalities were spotted. So they hooked me up with a holter monitor for 48 hours, well I guess that came out bad too because last week I was sent for another EKG, Echo Stress Test . I have an appointment for a very invasive procedure… These people want to put s catheter through my groin area all the way to the heart… I was not told of this procedure until I got a call from cardiology rescheduling my appoinment I was shocked due to the fact no one called me and told me I had this crap to be done .. I feel like as the patient I should be aware of what their plans are… They’re always saying it’s a simple procedure( after I drove to the hospital to get the next appointment date) i always think of course it’s simple for you , your not the one they’re talking about causing a heart attack on purpose… My question is should I have this procedure when their not even sure what’s wrong with my heart? I’m 25, their youngest cardiologist patient .. My dactor keeps telling me to wait until they get to the bottom of my heart problem… I refuse to wait, I’m still ttc, my husband is scared, I’m not… I feel like they are stalling for some reason… I was thinking about changing doctors but these people are supposed to be the best… I feel I can still do whatever heart test they want while at the same time have a baby…. Do you think I’m paranoid?

    Problem with my heart?

So I’m about 6 foot (male, 17), and I’m pretty athletic. I was on an x-training machine one day and noticed the pulse monitor, the ones I use are also fairly accurate, my heart rate was 203 bpm. Is that normal? I went to the doctors and he did a 24 hour ECG on me with a Holter monitor, I phoned up but the nurse said the doctor wants to give me the results and won’t be back from holiday until next week.

I’ve also suffered from chest tightness and chest pains, like a stabbing pain and then someone’s just put a massive weight on my chest. It also comes with some breathing difficulties and exercise intolerance (laziness!!!). Any idea what it might be, if anything?
ps. IM NOT ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT MY WEIGHT, ITS ABOUT MY HEART!, jeez cant people read nowadays

Rapid heart rate. Need opinions! Doctors cant figure it out?

Hello I have been experiencing some troubling symptoms over the past couple of months now. It is important to let you know that I am 28 weeks pregnant but my OB does not believe it is related, but may be allowing an underlying condition to flare up. The biggest symptom I have noticed is rapid heart rate that happens for no apparent reason. I will be laying on the couch and feel my heart beating out of my chest. I have a hard time getting a full breath and and it takes hours to get my pulse back down to 100. My resting pulse has been anywhere between 90-110 bpm. Sometimes it will go up to 130-150 bpm for no reason at all. It took 3 hours to bring it down last night. The doctor gave me a holter monitor which I will be returning today. I went to the ER. They said they did a test for blood clots and it was elevated so the ran a VQ scan of my lungs, but found no clots. They checked my thyroid (which last week they found to be a little low) and the T4 came back low again. (I started Thyroxine yesterday. The ER doctor said he thinks it is unlikely that this is only the pregnancy and said that the low thyroid would make my heart beat slower if anything. He told me I would have to wait for the results from the Holter monitor and maybe that would tell them something. I have also had swollen neck glands and a swollen gland under my right armpit. Despite the pregnancy I have had frequent bowel movement and seem to get hot flashes and start sweating for no reason. I am constantly tired even more so than for being pregnant my face and fingers are a little swollen but that could be from the pregnancy. If you could give me any answers on this it would be greatly appreciate. I am at a loss of what to do
I am slightly anemic I believe they said 11.3 was my level. which wasn’t too bad. I am on 324 mg of iron a day. I had massive bleeding with the delivery of my daughter so they like to keep an eye on my iron levels.
So you are saying that my heart rate is trying to match the babies? Funny, I actually asked the nurse if that could happen and she said no. I had heard of people who sleep next to each other ending up breathing at the same rate which is why I had asked her that. I cant find anything online about it happening during pregnancy though…

Elevated heart rate the day after drinking?

The day after a night of heavy drinking, my resting heart rate is sometimes quite high. For instance, right now. I’ve been sitting at my desk for about 40 minutes, and my heart rate is about 111. Usually, when I wake up (if I haven’t been drinking) in the morning my heart rate is about 74. A few months ago, after a weekend binging with friends from college at a cabin, my resting heart rate was 125 so I went to the emergency room. They did an EKG, blood and urine tests, I ended up wearing a Holter monitor for 24 hours, and all tests came back normal, they said whatever was causing the elevated pulse wasn’t lethal and wasn’t dangerous. Does anyone else experience this? I believe what the doctors said, but it’s uncomfortable, and causes a bit of anxiety.

Please avoid answering with platitudes about how alcohol is a poison and I should stop drinking. I understand. I’m just curious to see if anyone else experiences the same thing.
@ Hepo – It’s not that I didn’t want to hear that it is caused by the alcohol, I knew that was the cause. I just didn’t want all those answers that simply say ’stop drinking then!’ and the like.

Thank you very much for your information. I’m just glad to know other people experience it.

Heart trouble but normal EKG in a 21 year old male?

I had a 24-hour EKG done with a Holter monitor after complaining of a fast heart rate with palpitations. After looking at the test results, my cardiologist said everything looked "normal," but it doesn’t seem normal to me. While resting, my heart rate ranges anywhere from 60 bpm up to 110 bpm and palpitates sometimes. When I get these palpitations, there will be a pause followed by a noticeable "thump," which I have been told is a PVC. But occasionally, it feels like it is fluttering and I sometimes feel a tenderness in my heart muscle–like it’s working too hard and wants to rest. When my heart flutters like this, it feels as though it’s beating out of synch, but when I take my pulse, it feels relatively in synch. This tenderness in my heart makes it feel like it’s ‘bruised’ and it sometimes hurts more than usual (it’s not angina). My question is; could it be possible that there is something wrong with my heart, even though my EKG is supposedly normal? I am so upset about this.

          What happens if?

I choose to no longer take my toprol? I take it for a high pulse rate. It would jump up to the 160’s when I did the holter monitor.

If my pulse rate returns to what it was doing before the meds —what could happen?

What kind of medical examination picks up cardiac force?

Palpitations are often the result of elevated cardiac contraction force.
The ECG can pick up tachycardia, bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, ventricullar fibrillation, cardiac arrest, atrioventricullar fibrillation, ectopic beats etc.
The holter monitor does pretty much the same job.
Other equiptment show the pumping ability of the heart, while other machines show structural heart damage and obstructions, say myocardial infarction or pulmonary thrombosis.

What would need to be carried out to measure cardiac contraction force?
