Should I Fire my doctors?
Me and my hubby are ttc , but my doctor keeps stalling us .. I have been in and out of cardiologist offices, about three months ago I went to get my normal annual check up, they were taking my pulse and the nurse tells me I have an irregular pulse rate… Freaked me out… So I was sent for an emergency EKG, the results came back a week later saying that abnormalities were spotted. So they hooked me up with a holter monitor for 48 hours, well I guess that came out bad too because last week I was sent for another EKG, Echo Stress Test . I have an appointment for a very invasive procedure… These people want to put s catheter through my groin area all the way to the heart… I was not told of this procedure until I got a call from cardiology rescheduling my appoinment I was shocked due to the fact no one called me and told me I had this crap to be done .. I feel like as the patient I should be aware of what their plans are… They’re always saying it’s a simple procedure( after I drove to the hospital to get the next appointment date) i always think of course it’s simple for you , your not the one they’re talking about causing a heart attack on purpose… My question is should I have this procedure when their not even sure what’s wrong with my heart? I’m 25, their youngest cardiologist patient .. My dactor keeps telling me to wait until they get to the bottom of my heart problem… I refuse to wait, I’m still ttc, my husband is scared, I’m not… I feel like they are stalling for some reason… I was thinking about changing doctors but these people are supposed to be the best… I feel I can still do whatever heart test they want while at the same time have a baby…. Do you think I’m paranoid?

Problem with my heart?
So I’m about 6 foot (male, 17), and I’m pretty athletic. I was on an x-training machine one day and noticed the pulse monitor, the ones I use are also fairly accurate, my heart rate was 203 bpm. Is that normal? I went to the doctors and he did a 24 hour ECG on me with a Holter monitor, I phoned up but the nurse said the doctor wants to give me the results and won’t be back from holiday until next week.
I’ve also suffered from chest tightness and chest pains, like a stabbing pain and then someone’s just put a massive weight on my chest. It also comes with some breathing difficulties and exercise intolerance (laziness!!!). Any idea what it might be, if anything?
ps. IM NOT ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT MY WEIGHT, ITS ABOUT MY HEART!, jeez cant people read nowadays

Pulse Ox for vital monitoring?
I am an aid in a hospital, and sometimes I have to transport patients from the emergency room to different areas within the hospital. Sometimes this makes me very nervous with elderly or semi-unconscious people. Would it be ok just for my personal comfort to use the heart rate feature on a battery operated pulse ox just to make sure there ok during transport within the hospital. Would there be downside to using a pulse ox for the first sign of trouble?
Now I understand about chest rise and fall and to look at that, but sometimes its difficult to tell. I also understand that the doctor has evaluated them already and determined that they are stable enough to be transported without a nurse present, but still you never know. Thanks ahead of time.

Is my Pulse Rate Normal?
I’ve tested myself, and its usually 10 beats per 10 seconds = 60bpm resting/sitting. I have felt light headed, not sure if its anxiety. I was at a store last week and was crouched down looking at an item when I got up everything got dark for a second. I have been to the Cardioogist a couple of years ago, did a stress test and Echo, around the same time I had an EKG. All was fine. I recently lost a lot of weight too, but the past month have maintained the same weight. I had a minor outpatient procedure done in which sedatives were used last year. I set off some alarm on my monitoring machine and all the nurse told me was to take a deep breath and it was okay.

25-year-old female with moderately high blood pressure and rather high pulse rate – should I be concerned?
I have a lower-management job in a small retail corp, and the season isn’t quite over yet. I smoke one cigarette a day, half on the way to work and half on the way back from break. I had a problem with arrhythmia and low blood pressure as a teen, so I became paranoid and began checking my BP using a home monitor I’ve checked against my mother’s (a nurse) – both parents have high BP. It’s the distance between the numbers that is actually concerning me, but I don’t know if that’s what I should be worried about. My sleep tends to be short and erratic. And my diet is generally fast food. I’m just trying to figure out whether it’s my habits or something else.

Blood pressures great.. but REALLY Low pulse rate?
Okay, well my workplace did the Red Cross Blood Donating thing yesterday. I volunteered to donate my blood. Well as the nurse lady was checking my blood pressure and other stuff, I came to find out I’m not eligible to give blood. WHY? because I had a really, really low pulse rate.
I can’t remember but it was either 23 or 32, still low. She said shes never seen it that low and we did it twice. She also said my blood pressure was great but couldn’t tell why I wasn’t dead lol. And no I haven’t exercised for about a month now. I am also male, 20 yrs old.
This started to make me think back about 2 months ago where I started to get dizzy and light-headed a lot during the hot days. I had to go to the doctor. He set me up with a 24 hr heart monitoring system but everything checked out fine.
I started to do some research online, and it basically said if you have a low pulse rate then that just means your heart is in great shape UNLESS you experience dizziness.
Oh God, what does this mean? LOL and I don’t want to see my doctor since I just had a check up last week. I feel fine, but then again I don’t wanna have some sort of cardiac arrest in the near future.
What should I do? Is this something I shouldn’t worry about?

fetal monitoring–spikes in heart rate…?
when i was in L&D yesterday and hooked up to the fetal monitor i noticed the heart rate jumping up from a baseline of about 150 up to about 180 and at one point even noticed it jump up to 200; i never even saw the doctor look at the print out…the nurse tore off the paper and folded it up after the doctor had finished with me completely.
is it possible the doctor forgot to check, or didn’t notice? if she did see it without me realizing it, is it possible that it wasn’t a cause for concern for some reason? i mean, i feel like me not being a doctor means i should keep my mouth shut about things like that, but now i wonder if i should have asked her about it so she could tell me why she didn’t investigate this further as it seems like a pretty pronounced spike…

fetal heart beat and contraction monitor results during real labor?
I had a false trip to the hospital this morning. I thought my water had broke in a slow trickle and was having contractions every 2-3 minutes. The nurse hooked me up to a fetal heart beat and contractions monitor. I was having contractions on a regular timed basis. On the monitor it showed the highest intensity of one of my contractions was 210.
So, I am wondering how high that number can go or do go during real labor? 210 wasn’t that bad, it did shut me up, but didn’t take my breath away. Does anyone know from experience the average intensity number it goes up to during a real labor contraction?
Please help so I know and can be prepared!
